In the months leading up to the wedding, Allison picked out a Mark Zunino mermaid gown with a sweetheart neckline and dropped waist. She paired it with crystal-clad Jimmy Choo sandals and Thomas Knoell accessories.

Her groom and his groomsmen opted for classic black tuxes from Michael’s, while the bridesmaids and junior bridesmaids shined in pink La Femme and Jessica Lynn dresses.

After leaving the churc, guests reconvened for cocktails and hors d’oeuvre at The Grand Ballroom in the Kansas City Convention Center.

“I originally wanted a place that was tented, but I was leery about doing something outside,” she says. “I wanted an in- door space that I could make my own, so we ended up tenting the entire inside with a floor-to-ceiling tent.”

There, the planning team helped create a Hollywood glamour-style celebration, blend- ing a palette of pinks, blushes and nudes. Shimmering chandeliers added drama, as did the crystal candelabras that Studio Dan Meiners draped in roses and lisianthus.

The couple left the catering to Lon Lane of Inspired Occasions, who created an elaborate feast that included everything from tableside lobster grilled cheeses and gazpa- cho shooters to grilled beef tenderloin and pan-seared sea bass.

Rama Sola prepared the seven-tiered wedding cake, decked out in ostrich feathers, rhinestones and pearls
