KC Weddings Bridal Spectacular

Can you believe that Bridal Spectacular is only a few short weeks away? Here's all you need to know about the biggest bridal event of the season:

  • When: July 24, 2010, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Where: The Overland Park Convention Center, 6000 College Blvd.
  • What we've got: Hundreds of local wedding vendors and experts in the flesh and at the ready to help plan your perfect day. Plus thousands of dollars worth of giveaways and two bridal runway show, to boot.
  • How much: $12 at the door or right here right now on our website.

I love this event— it’s so exciting to see thousands of eager, excited brides-to-be checking out their options. I’m sure you know that you can buy your tickets right here on our site (and you should—go right now, I’ll wait.)

Okay, you’re back? Good. I just wanted to take a few minutes to give a shout-out to a couple of my very favorite things about the Spectacular, so you don’t miss out.

Food! Although the lines can be a little lo-o-ong, especially around lunchtime, it’s totally worth waiting for top-notch reception samples from our vendors. This is one of the most popular parts of Bridal Spectacular, and for good reason. (The chocolate fountain is ideal for raising late-afternoon blood sugar, you know.) Yummy.

Cake! Okay, so it’s also a food, but I think we can all agree that wedding cake falls into its own category of divine deliciousness, no? This is the perfect time to check out your options: from design, to toppings, to fillings, to flavor. You owe it to your guests—truly!

Dresses! Not only are some of our very favorite local boutiques there to show you a sampling of what they’ve got (and it’s a lot, I can promise you!)—but the fashion show is also not to be missed. Seriously—plan your trip around the noon or 3 p.m. show. Our producer, Ratana Tshibanda (of RT Productions), puts on an outstanding show that’ll get you so pumped up you’ll leave singing—seriously, a few years ago it took me about a month to get Beyoncé’s “Single Ladies” out of my head. Be there…it’s the hottest date in town.

I could go on and on—it’s such an amazing day, we all look forward to it ourselves—but just know this: this is a day you don’t want to miss. Bring your posse, bring your mom, heck, bring your groom (if you can get him to come)…just come. We’ll see you there!
